Detour: FAIRY TALE or CHAMPION MALE? In "Fairy Tale," teams will follow a trail of gingerbread fragments to the enchanted village of Oberammergau. Once there, teams will choose a miniature house and completely shingle the roof with gingerbread pieces. But beware, a nearby witch is roaming around and will stop at nothing to thwart teams' plans. Once your roof is completely shingled, however, the witch will be forced to hand over your next clue.
>>Teams will walk (5-sided dice) 14 spaces to Oberammergau. You must land on the following spaces to spot the gingerbread fragments and continue walking: 2-3, 5-6, 9-10, 12-13. If you land anywhere else, you will simply stay where you currently are until the next round. Once in Oberammergau, begin shingling the rooftop with gingerbread by rolling all numbers 1-15 on four 15-sided dice per round. However, at the top of each round, the witch will steal one piece of gingerbread from each team by rolling a 15-sided dice of her own. Each team currently on this step will lose that piece from their roof.
In "Champion Male," teams will walk (5-sided dice) 10 spaces to the nearby Unterammergau Tavern. Once there, they will choose at random one of five photographs of over-the-top beard styles, inspired by the most recent World Beard Championships. They must replicate the beard style in the photograph on the beard of an older gentleman participant. The beard champion must give his OK through each of the three steps. If he isn't pleased by any part of the styling, the team must do that part over and get his approval before moving on.
>>The five styles are in varying degrees of complexity, but each style does involve three steps: braiding (rolling out the difference), curling (using either a 10-sided, 14-sided, or 18-sided dice [roll for it], and rolling until you reach the given number), and gelling (rolling two 100-sided dice, aiming for two numbers that surround the given number). Remember, the beard master must okay each of the three steps ('2' on a 2-sided dice means he approves) before moving on to the next.

Detour: FAIRY TALE or CHAMPION MALE? In "Fairy Tale," teams will follow a trail of gingerbread fragments to the enchanted village of Oberammergau. Once there, teams will choose a miniature house and completely shingle the roof with gingerbread pieces. But beware, a nearby witch is roaming around and will stop at nothing to thwart teams' plans. Once your roof is completely shingled, however, the witch will be forced to hand over your next clue.
>>Teams will walk (5-sided dice) 14 spaces to Oberammergau. You must land on the following spaces to spot the gingerbread fragments and continue walking: 2-3, 5-6, 9-10, 12-13. If you land anywhere else, you will simply stay where you currently are until the next round. Once in Oberammergau, begin shingling the rooftop with gingerbread by rolling all numbers 1-15 on four 15-sided dice per round. However, at the top of each round, the witch will steal one piece of gingerbread from each team by rolling a 15-sided dice of her own. Each team currently on this step will lose that piece from their roof.
In "Champion Male," teams will walk (5-sided dice) 10 spaces to the nearby Unterammergau Tavern. Once there, they will choose at random one of five photographs of over-the-top beard styles, inspired by the most recent World Beard Championships. They must replicate the beard style in the photograph on the beard of an older gentleman participant. The beard champion must give his OK through each of the three steps. If he isn't pleased by any part of the styling, the team must do that part over and get his approval before moving on.
>>The five styles are in varying degrees of complexity, but each style does involve three steps: braiding (rolling out the difference), curling (using either a 10-sided, 14-sided, or 18-sided dice [roll for it], and rolling until you reach the given number), and gelling (rolling two 100-sided dice, aiming for two numbers that surround the given number).
